30 years of memories – Come celebrate with us in 2020!

Pine Lodge had a fantastic 2019, with another year full of happy guests and delegates making memories to last a lifetime. Here’s a look back at some of the highlights of 2019, and a look forward to another amazing year ahead:

Some highlights from 2019:

We upgraded our “H” units to accommodate business travelers more comfortably, including convenient value-adds such as in-room WiFi , laundry and business services, work station with plug points, and more.

Accommodation business corporate travel conference

We continued in our efforts to improve our carbon footprint and our impact on our natural surrounds with features like solar panels, recycling bins and reclaimed water, and began purchasing large portions of our energy from green energy providers.

eco-friendly accommodation

We up-skilled our team, with 3 Basecamp Adventure facilitators qualifying and our senior facilitator, Lindo, completing his official nature guide course. In addition, one of our star Conference team members Nomfundo graduated her Hygiene and Safety course. Well done!

Qualified adventure facilitators

For our Mandela Day 2019 67 minutes, we organised a morning beach-cleanup with a lovely group of boys and girls from Walmer Primary School..Tying in with their curriculum, we learned about the damaging effects of litter on marine life and the ecosystem as a whole, and why protecting them is so important.

Mandela Day Beach CLeanup

We made some fun and vibrant upgrades to our Games Room. Some bright, scenic wall art now compliments our comfy bean-bag chairs, shiny new TV’s and always entertaining Foosball, pool and air-hockey tables!

Games room family activities

Over 70 people joined us for a guided walk through the magnificent Cape Recife Nature Reserve for Heritage Day.

Heritage Day Nature Hike

We were graced by the first Elephant Seals to set foot on SA shores in approximately 70 years! This beautiful mom and her pup spent a few lazy days on the beach right outside our very own Ziggy’s Restaurant. The wonderful team at the Port Elizabeth Museum at Bayworld gave us the honor of naming the pup Ziggy, and fitted him with a small tracking device. You can follow his progress here.
